Built onto
Addons: market stalls ordered from the square's own card and raised on its bays, and a storage shed that grows against a factory wall.
The build bar was getting crowded, and some buildings only make sense next to another one. A market stall belongs on a market square. A storage shed belongs against a factory. So those are addons now: they are not in the build bar at all, you order them from the card of the building they belong to.
The market square is a cobbled square with six bays, three on each side of a lane. Its card has a button for every kind of stall, and each one you click becomes a blueprint on a free bay. The builders raise them one after another. Once the stalls are up, the homemakers come with one bag and walk from stall to stall to fill it. For now the game knows four kinds of stall: food, candles, pottery and clothes. So when I filled the square in the showcase town, two bays stayed empty, and the candle, pottery and clothes stalls had nothing to sell yet, because nobody makes those goods.
The storage shed is the same idea for a factory. A factory keeps one input pile and one output pile inside, which is tight on purpose. You order a shed on the factory’s card, the haulers bring five wood to the door, a builder puts it up, and a small lean-to appears against the factory wall. Two sheds give four piles of each.
